Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a precursor sheet for a long porous carbon electrode substrate in which generation of black stains generated in the porous carbon substrate is reduced remarkably and stains are almost not generated, and which has a high grade and high quality in appearance, and a manufacturing method of the porous carbon electrode substrate, and further to provide the precursor sheet and the porous carbon electrode substrate.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a precursor sheet for a porous electrode substrate, a fiber mixed slurry is created by mixing a carbon fiber precursor short fiber (b) and/or a fibril-like fiber (b') together with a carbon short fiber (A) into water of which a Na concentration is 2 ppm or less. As the water of which the Na concentration is 2 ppm or less, deionized water is preferable. The precursor sheet for the porous carbon electrode substrate is made from the fiber mixed slurry. The precursor sheet is baked to manufacture the porous carbon electrode substrate, thereby remarkably reducing generation of black stains.
