To effectively remove peritectic impurity and eutectic impurity in a refining of aluminum.
As a raw material for refining, a raw material for refining the aluminum is used, in which the raw material contains the peritectic element and boron, and the amount of the boron is contained excessively by 5-80 mass ppm to the total chemical equivalent calculated as a metal boride with the peritectic element. Then, in a melting furnace 1, the raw material for refining the aluminum, is melted into the molten metal, and the molten metal is shifted into a reaction chamber 2A. In the reaction chamber 2A, the metal boride is formed by reacting the peritectic element with the boron in the molten metal, and the formed metal boride and the metal boride formed during the melting step, are removed. Further, the molten metal is shifted into a refining chamber 2B, and in the refining chambers 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, a high purity aluminum is crystallized, from which the eutectic element containing unreacted boron is removed by segregation-solidification.
