To provide a method for producing steel slag for water area sinking, which method facilitates the application of steel slag with a high sulfur content and with a conventionally difficult application, into water area by rapidly curtailing a reducible sulfur compound included in steel slag to modify slag aspect.
In the method for producing steel slag for water area sinking, the elution of a reducible sulfur compound included in steel slag into water area is decreased by adding an oxidant diluted or dissolved with water to steel slag and then oxidizing the reducible sulfur compound included in steel slag to generate a sulfuric acid ion. The elution of the reducible sulfur compound is further decreased by using seawater as water used for dilution or dissolution.
