Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a toner for electrostatic charge image development, which exhibits sufficient heat-resistant storage property while having excellent low-temperature fixability, and has excellent mechanical strength.SOLUTION: The production method of a toner for electrostatic charge image development aims to produce a toner comprising toner particles containing a binder resin made of an amorphous resin and a crystalline resin, a release agent, and a colorant. The method includes: a polymerization step in which a monomer for forming an amorphous resin is added to an aqueous medium in the presence of fine particles containing a crystalline resin and polymerized to obtain coated resin fine particles comprising the fine particles containing the crystalline resin coated with the amorphous resin; and an aggregation fusion step in which at least fine particles containing an amorphous resin, the coated resin fine particles, and fine particles containing a colorant are flocculated and fused in the presence of a flocculant in an aqueous medium to obtain toner particles. A surfactant at a concentration 1 to 5 times as a critical micelle concentration is added to the aqueous medium in the polymerization step.SELECTED DRAWING: None
