Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transformation of a plant without the use of a callus or tissue piece in an in vitro culture system; a plant transformation method without introducing a selectable marker gene; and a method for producing a transformed plant having excellent reproducibility.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a method for transformation of plants. The method comprises the steps of: coating at least one kind of nucleic acid on fine particles having a diameter of 0.3 μm or more and 0.9 μm or less; and striking the coated fine particles onto the shoot apexes of embryos of ripened seeds using a gene gun; growing the shoot apexes with the struck coated fine particles to obtain plant bodies; and selecting a transformed plant body from the plant bodies.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
