PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a component of a shoe.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a component of a shoe comprising the steps: (a.) providing a sheet of material (11); (b.) heating the sheet of material (11); (c.) stretching the heated sheet of material (11) by moving a last (13) into the sheet of material (11), where the last (13) defines the shape of the component; and (d.) applying a pressure lower than the ambient pressure between the stretched sheet of material (11) and the last (13) to conform the sheet of material (11) to the last (13); or (e.) applying a pressure higher than the ambient pressure over the stretched sheet of material (11) to conform the sheet of material (11) to the last (13).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
