Title:
DRY LOW EMISSION BURNER FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3207353
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low emission cylindrical annular combustion system for an industrial gas turbine engine to satisfy environmental requirements.
SOLUTION: The required conditoins for the operation of an engine are satisfied without using a burner dilute injection and burner after exhaust treatment, and dual mode combustion technology is used. Dilute premixing combustion mode is used to minimize the burning temperature of a main zone 23a and to limit the oxidation of nitrogen in the high output operation of the engine. A pilot starter sub-fuel supply system 22 is used to supplement the main combustion supply system. The dilute premixing combustion mode is performed by a dilute premixing dome 20 having a fixed axial swirler 26 having a radial fuel passage coupled to an annular main fuel manifold 30 to uniformly distribute the fuel over the channel. The converged part of the dome accelerates the fluid flow to eliminate the flash back in the main burning zone.
