Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maoC gene, to provide a maoC protein, to provide a recombinant vector containing the maoC gene, to provide a microorganism transformed by the recombinant vector, and to provide a method for producing a medium chain length-polyhydroxyalkanoic acid (MCL-PHA) by utilizing the same.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the MCL-PHA includes a step for transforming a microorganism from which an fadB gene is eliminated and which contains a PHA synthesizing gene by the recombinant gene containing the maoC gene and culturing the transformed microorganism in a culture medium containing a 6-10C compound as a carbon source and a step for obtaining the PHA formed out of the 6-10C compound.
