Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector of small construction where a pre-load is given to each contact and which suits a narrow pitch, and also provide contacts for use in it.
SOLUTION: A housing 40 of an electric connector has a cavity 45 in which at least a pair of contacts are installed in back-to-back arrangement. The cavity 45 has a stopping wall 46 to stop a finger (stopper) at the tip of each contact in cantilever form so as to give a preload to the contact and a space 47 to make the finger displaceable. Because the space 47 of one cavity 45 is located in eccentricity from the space 47 of other cavity on the back, it is possible to install contacts at a narrow pitch in the A-direction.
