Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for determining a printed matter measurement position with which it is possible to appropriately determine the measurement position of printed matter, and a measurement method.SOLUTION: A plurality of measurement candidate areas that are candidates for measurement positions for measuring the quality of printed matter and in which image signal values within the area are the same for each individual area are extracted by analyzing printed image data 12 of the image printed on printed matter. When a group of measurement candidate areas having the same image signal value is defined as one measurement candidate area group, the number of measurement positions assigned to each of a plurality of measurement candidate area groups differing in image signal values is determined for each measurement candidate area group. A measurement candidate area group in which the image signal values of the measurement candidate area groups that have been assigned the measurement positions are within a predetermined range, is excluded from those that are assigned the measurement positions. As many positions of the measurement candidate areas as have been assigned are determined to be the measurement positions for each measurement candidate area group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
