PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium information reading device and a medium transaction device capable of improving security.SOLUTION: An automatic teller machine brings a shutter upper face 46U into contact with an entrance upper inner wall face 4U and brings a shutter lower face 46D into contact with an entrance lower inner wall face 4D without a gap, in an idle state, and disposes a shutter front face 46F so as to become flush to a front face of a front panel 30 without a step. The automatic teller machine opens a card entrance 4 by moving a shutter 46, moves a card delivery part 40 which is retreated to a depth relative to the card entrance 4 toward a front side so that the card delivery part is fitted to the card entrance 4 without a gap, and a card CD is inserted and detached thereinto/therefrom, through the card delivery part 40 in a transaction state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
