Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in that, although some of paper guides disposed on trays for placing mediums thereon are configured to move so as to correspond to a medium size, skew or jam may occur during conveyance of mediums because it is necessary to provide a certain degree of margin (empty space), taking account of variations in medium size when an area where paper guides are movable is set according to the maximum size of a medium to be placed.SOLUTION: A medium tray comprises: a tray frame 201; and paper guides 301, 401 for regulating respective widthwise positions of documents 140 orthogonal to a conveyance direction, the documents being stuck on a tray frame and to be read. In the paper guides 301, 401, an abutting part 411 is movable toward a second movement area N from a first movement area M in the widthwise direction, and operation force F3 with which the abutting part 411 is moved in the boundary between the first and second movement areas is set stronger than operation force F1 with which the abutting part 411 is moved in the first movement area M.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
