Abstract:
To decrease a temperature of exhaust gas, and reduce a fuel consumption of a melting burner.SOLUTION: A melting holding furnace comprises a melting chamber 4 in which a metal material 2 is melted by first heating units 24 and 25 to form a molten metal, and a holding chamber 5 that adjusts and holds the molten metal flowing from the melting chamber 4 to a predetermined temperature by a second heating unit 27. The melting holding furnace also comprises: a charging passage 6 that is provided at one end of the melting chamber 4 so as to extend upward, and has an opening 7 for charging the metal material 2 at its upper end part; a melting shelf 21 that is provided in the lower portion of the charging passage 6 at the inner bottom of the melting chamber 4, and stacks the metal material 2; and a corner 23 that is provided at the end part of the upper wall part of the melting chamber 4 so as to face the lower end part of the charging passage 6. Further, when an angle formed by a line connecting the tip part of the melting chamber 4 and a corner part 23 of the upper wall part of the melting chamber 4, and a horizontal line is θ, the angle θ is configured to be equal to or less than 50 degrees.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
