Abstract:
To suppress reduction in durability by avoiding contact between an assist spring and a case in an opening/closing member drive device including the assist spring biasing an output shaft.SOLUTION: An opening/closing member drive device 1 comprises: an output shaft 2 which protrudes from a case 10; a motor 3 being the drive source; a transmission mechanism 4 which transmits the rotation of the motor 3 to the output shaft 2; and an assist spring 5 which biases the output shaft 2. The assist spring 5 includes: a first spring 51; and a second spring 52 which is arranged on the inner peripheral side of the first spring 51. The first spring 51 includes a spring part 510 which is formed by winding a wire 50A into a spiral shape. The inner peripheral surface of an intermediate case 16 includes: a first inner peripheral surface portion 167 and a second inner peripheral surface portion 168 which is located on the outer side in the radial direction with respect to the first inner peripheral surface portion 167. The second inner peripheral surface portion 168 surrounds an output shaft side end 515 of the spring part 510. The output shaft side end 515 of the spring part 510 includes a small diameter part 517.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
