Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic coating composition capable of effectively preventing static charge on the surface of an article. SOLUTION: The surface of the article is covered with the antistatic coating composition containing coated film-forming elements comprising a semiconductor photocatalyst, and an uncured or partially cured silicone or silicone precursor. When the surface covered with the antistatic coating composition is photoexcited, the surface of a photocatalyst-containing layer is hydrophilized so as to have <=10 deg. contact angle with water, and a moisture component in air is absorbed on the surface. As a result, the electroconductivity of the surface is increased, and the static charge is prevented.
