Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce the burden of determining whether or not to copy data for the purpose of load distribution in a storage system.SOLUTION: A storage system of the present invention comprises: a master volume; one or more link volumes; a master data readout frequency detection unit for detecting the readout frequency of each of the data stored by the master volume; a load state determination unit for determining the load state of the master volume and the load state of each of the link volumes; a copy object determination unit for determining the data to be copied from among the data stored by the master volume on the basis of the readout frequency when it is determined by the load state determination unit that the master volume is in a high load state; a copy destination determination unit for determining a link volume as a copy destination of the copied data, on the basis of the load states of the link volumes; and a copy control unit for copying the copied data to the copy destination link volume.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
