Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover mercury from a mercury-containing substance efficiently at a low cost.SOLUTION: A system 1 for recovering mercury includes: an external heat kiln 4 in which mercury-containing dust D3 is heated indirectly to evaporate the mercury contained in the mercury-containing dust D3 and from which an evaporated mercury-containing gas G1 for transportation is discharged; a fan 5 for adding air A2 for auxiliary transportation to the mercury-containing gas G1 for transportation, the gas having been discharged from the external heat kiln 4; a bag filter 6 in which the gas G1 for transportation and the air A2 for auxiliary transportation are separated into a mercury-containing gas G2 and mercury-removed dust D2; and an activated carbon adsorption column 7 in which the mercury contained in the mercury-containing gas G2 is adsorbed and recovered. The external heat kiln 4 can include a gas discharge part 4e for discharging the gas G1 for transportation and a dust discharge part 4f for discharging the mercury-removed dust D4 generated by removing mercury from the mercury-containing dust D3. The air A2 for auxiliary transportation is added to the gas G1 for transportation from the fan 5. A flow rate of each of the gas G1 for transportation and the air A2 for auxiliary transportation can be controlled within 0.5 m/second or more and 20 m/second or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
