Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal air battery that restricts expansion of an electrode and achieves the prolonged life of the battery.SOLUTION: A metal air battery has an air electrode which is an anode, and a fuel electrode 102 which is a cathode. The fuel electrode 102 comprises: a collector made of metal; an active material 50 accommodated in an accommodation space SR provided along the surface of the collector; a housing 30 defining the accommodation space SR; an anion film 40 covering the surface of the housing 30. The housing 30 has a crosspiece member dividing the accommodation space SR into a plurality of spaces. The accommodation space SR has a separation area BR divided into at least two or more areas in a height direction Z by a crosspiece member (especially, a horizontal crosspiece member 31). The crosspiece member is provided with a vent 31a through which air is passed upwards from the separation area BR.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
