Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a metal bellows pipe provided with a liquid amount adjusting mechanism which closely adheres a tip part of a mandrel to one side of stationary mold upon insertion completion of the mandrel when forming a bellows and can change a space part formed by the mandrel and pipe stock to the space part of a smaller volume.SOLUTION: Both ends of a hollow pipe stock P are hermetically sealed by a stationary mold 12 and a movable mold, a hollow part of the pipe stock P is set as a space part S, a split mold 14 is arranged on an outer circumference of the pipe stock P so as to perform bellows forming, at the same time, a mandrel 17 of a liquid amount adjusting mechanism 15 is inserted into the space part S freely forward/backward movably, space parts S/Sl different from each other are constituted before insertion of the mandrel 17 and after insertion of the mandrel, and bellows forming liquid is introduced via a liquid sending hole 17a of the mandrel 17 for the space part Sl which is hermetically sealed and has a smaller volume after insertion completion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
