Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable not only of stably reforming methane over an extended period without removing poisonous components derived from raw ingredient components by using a Ni-based methane reforming catalyst or metallic Ni together with steam partially constituting a yet-to-be-reacted gasifying agent in a state where a high temperature of 900°C or above prevailing immediately after gasification is being preserved but also of being easily adapted to all conceivable gasifying furnaces.SOLUTION: In the provided method for reforming methane within a gas generated by gasifying, with a gasifying agent, solid organic matters such as biomass, coals, etc. based on the reaction thereof with steam in the presence of a methane reforming catalyst, a gas-permeable sheet-shaped or plate-shaped Ni-based methane reforming catalyst is configured within a gasifying furnace or within a methane reforming facility posterior to the gasifying furnace and heated at 900°C or above.
