Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering precious metals which enables recovering precious metals efficiently from a membrane electrode assembly of a fuel battery without occurrence of accidental harmful substances.SOLUTION: A method of recovering precious metals from a membrane electrode assembly of a fuel battery includes an oxidation step of applying an oxidation potential to the membrane electrode assembly in a state where the membrane electrode assembly is immersed in a dissolving solution, and a reduction step of applying a reduction potential to the membrane electrode assembly. The oxidation step and the reduction step are repeated alternately in such a way that a ratio between a time (a) for the application of the reduction potential and a time (b) for the application of the oxidation potential, namely a/b, is 0.1-1.0.
