Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, immunogenic composition, and vaccine for immunizing a pig against post-weaning multi-systemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) by protecting a pig against the pathogenic type 2B strain of porcine circovirus.SOLUTION: The present invention provides an isolated porcine circovirus comprising a nucleic acid molecule having a specific sequence or comprising a nucleic acid molecule having at least 95% sequence homology to the sequence. The present invention also provides at least one protein from at least one of the two new type 2B strains of porcine circovirus eliciting a protective immune response against a pathogenic porcine circovirus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1-1
