Abstract:
To provide a method for reducing phosphorus from a manganese oxide-containing substance containing phosphorus.SOLUTION: A dephosphorization method of a manganese oxide-containing substance includes heating a manganese oxide-containing substance to a temperature in a non-molten state and making the manganese oxide-containing substance react with nitrogen-containing gas at a nitrogen partial pressure of more than 0.15 atm and less than 0.95 atom and thereby nitride-removing phosphorus in the manganese oxide-containing substance. A low phosphorus-containing manganese oxide-containing substance is a manganese oxide-containing substance treated according to the dephosphorization method of the manganese oxide-containing substance, and the manganese oxide-containing substance has a content of a phosphorus oxide (P2O5) of 0.2 mass% or less. A method for manufacturing steel manufactures steel using a manganese ore subjected to the dephosphorization or a combusted product of the manganese ore as a raw material in at least one of blast furnace refining and steel-making refining.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
