Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supporting M2M communication in a hierarchical network architecture including an M2M gateway.SOLUTION: An M2M entity performs a service capability discovering procedure to discover an M2M service capability entity that can provide an M2M service capability, and registers with the discovered M2M service capability entity. An address or identity information of the service capability entity is pre-configured or obtained from a dispatcher server. The M2M entity indicates a support M2M service identifier and receives the identity information or the address of the M2M service capability entity corresponding to the service identifier. Since a gateway can advertise M2M service identifiers supported by the gateway, an M2M device can access the gateway if match occurs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
