Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for testing a speed or an operation of an electronic watch such as a quartz watch.SOLUTION: A method for testing a speed of an electronic watch having a time base device (1) includes three main steps for testing on a testing machine. The time base device includes at least one watch module (2) having a resonator (3) connected to a vibrator of an electronic circuit (4). The electronic circuit (4) is followed by a divider circuit. The divider circuit is controlled by a prohibition circuit and provides a divided timing signal to a motor. In a first step, the measurement consists of measuring a frequency of a vibrator reference signal at least in a measurement period having no prohibition. A second step is provided for the purpose of acquiring the present prohibition value in order to prohibit a certain number of clock pulses and in order to determine a prohibition value in a continued prohibition period. Lastly, a third step is provided for the purpose of calculating the frequency corresponding to the watch.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
