Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of piling phenomenon where foreign substances having an adhesiveness are gradually accumulated on a contacting member in a case where pretreatment solution is applied to successive medium subjected to surface reforming process.SOLUTION: It comprises: pretreatment solution providing means 20 providing pretreatment solution 27 to medium 10; a liquid ejection head 50 ejecting and providing liquid containing coloring material to the medium 10 to which the pretreatment solution 27 has been provided; drying means 3 drying the pretreatment solution; and controlling means which controls volume of the pretreatment solution to be provided by the pretreatment solution providing means 20 at a volume with which hardness measured by nanoindentation method in surface of the medium 10 dried by the drying means 3 is 0.07 GPa or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
