Abstract:
To provide a component for an automobile and a method for manufacturing a component with a coating from a magnesium material.SOLUTION: A component (10) for an automobile comprises: a base substance (12) which is manufactured from a magnesium material and whose external surface (14) has an arithmetic average roughness Ra of 1-40 μm; and a transparent lacquer coating (40). In the component (10), the transparent lacquer coating (40) is provided on the external surface (14) of the base substance (12) and has a layer thickness of 60 μm at maximum so that a surface structure (15) of the base substance (12) arranged beneath the transparent lacquer coating (40) can be identified visually and tactually.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
