Abstract:

To provide a method for oxidizing/removing fine carbon particles in exhaust gas from a diesel engine efficiently at low temperatures by combining a catalyst and a carrier.

In the method for oxidizing/removing the fine carbon particles by bringing the exhaust gas into contact with the catalyst, a platinum catalyst is used as the catalyst, and the carrier absorbs sulfur oxide at low temperature and discharges the sulfur oxide at about 300°C where the reaction between NO2and carbon is activated.
