Abstract:
To provide a method for quickly manufacturing an n-type Mg3Sb2-based material having high thermoelectric performance.SOLUTION: An n-type Mg3Sb2-based thermoelectric material with high thermoelectric performance comprises an original composition of Mg3.2-xYxSb1.5Bi0.5-ySey, where x and y represent respective atomic percentages of x=0 to 0.1, and y=0 to 0.1, with prices of selected raw materials being low. The n-type Mg3Sb2- based thermoelectric material can be manufactured quickly and with high efficiency by a one-step ball-milling method, at low costs while saving energy. The material has: high reproducibility; excellent thermal stability; a lowest thermal conductivity value of 0.90 Wm-1K-1; a maximum power factor of 2451.70 μWm-1K-2 with 623K being a maximum value of the current system; and a maximum thermoelectric performance index of ZT=1.8 being one of maximum values of the current system. The material solves a problem existing in conventional temperature fusion and a two-step high energy ball-milling method that Mg elements volatilize, a solid phase reaction sealing tube condition is complex, and reaction takes a long time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
