To provide a method for recovering a noble metal with which the noble metal can be recovered without using a complicated chemical treatment and a large quantity of chemical drag; to provide a method for producing a functional material capable of improving a reducing reaction of a strongly oxidizing metal ion; and also to provide a method for treating the strongly oxidizing metal ion-containing aqueous solution with which the reducing reaction of the strongly oxidizing metal ion can effectively be promoted.
In the methods for recovering the noble metal and for producing the functional material, a little quantity of solid material is added into the aqueous solution containing the noble metal ion, and the noble metal ion in the aqueous solution is reduced by utilizing the reducing reaction to be induced in the aqueous solution with irradiation from radiation, and the reduced noble metal is dispersed and supported on the surface of the solid material. In the method for treating the strongly oxidizing metal ion-containing aqueous solution, the solid material dispersed and the supported with noble metal is added in the little quantity, and the strongly oxidizing metal ion is reduced into a low oxidizing state and made to harmless by utilizing the reduction to be induced in the aqueous solution and on the surface of the solid material, with the irradiation from the radiation.
