Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watching apparatus which can properly determine a state of a person on a bed.SOLUTION: A watching apparatus includes: a distance measurement unit which measures distances to a subject at a plurality of spots, to generate distance images having pixels with luminance values indicating distances to the subject; a three-dimensional processing unit which determines three-dimensional coordinates of the subject, on the basis of the distance images; a three-dimensional block generation unit which executes labeling processing to apply the same label to three-dimensional coordinates located within a predetermined range of distance, on the basis of the three-dimensional coordinates, to generate a three-dimensional block; a moving-body area detection unit which calculates a difference in distance between two-frame distance images having a distance of a predetermined time, by pixel, to detect an area formed of pixels having the difference equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, as a moving-body area; a moving-body block extraction unit which extracts an area in the three-dimensional block corresponding to the moving-body area, as a moving-body block; and a state determination unit which determines a state of a person, on the basis of a physical quantity on the moving-body block, to issue a determination result to the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
