Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate universal rolling method for shape steel having a flange, which is capable of suppressing the occurrence of biting failures or slipping.SOLUTION: This intermediate universal rolling method for shape steel having a flange, which is implemented after rough rolling, executes rolling on a rough steel shape piece which is roughly rolled material by a plurality of rolling passes using an intermediate universal mill, bites the tip of the rough shape steel piece which becomes a biting side in a conveying direction in a state where the aperture D of a pair of horizontal rolls of the intermediate universal mill is set larger than a reference aperture Ds which is an aperture D used for rolling the constant region of the rough shape steel piece on a longitudinal center side in at least a first pass among the rolling passes, and executes aperture adjustment rolling for rolling the rough shape steel piece while gradually reducing the aperture of the pair of horizontal rolls until the reference aperture D is reached after the tip has bitten in the intermediate universal mill.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
