To provide a motor control device capable of smoothly switching a control method while suppressing speed fluctuations even for a motor having saliency.SOLUTION: A motor control device that switches between the first control method that controls a motor on the basis of open loop control and a second control method that controls the motor on the basis of closed loop control and outputs a d-axis current command value and a q-axis current command value includes a switching unit that switches between the first control method and the second control method, and an output control unit that outputs the d-axis current command value and the q-axis current command value, and the output control unit converges the d-axis current command value to a predetermined value after the switching timing at which the motor control method is switched from the first control method to the second control method by the switching unit, and increases the q-axis current command value gradually from before the switching timing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
