Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use each output of a fuel cell and an engine properly in a hybrid car fitted with both. SOLUTION: The car is so constituted that each power of its engine 10 and motor 20 may be outputted to axle shafts 17. The fuel cell 60 is provided as a main power source for driving the motor 20. The fuel cell and the engine are used properly so that the output of the fuel cell may lower with the consumption of FC fuel for fuel cells. For example, a running region which uses the motor 20 as a motive power source is narrowed, when the FC fuel becomes scarce. Besides, the motor is driven as a generator by the engine 10, and a battery is charged without using the power of the fuel cell. By doing this way, excessive consumption of the FC fuel in one operation mode is evaded, and it is possible to use the fuel cell preferentially in an operating state where the effectiveness of the fuel cell is high.
