Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a pad roller mechanism of magnetic card reader able to be automatically assembled in a production line and with excellent workability when a magnetic head is cleaned and inspected in maintenance.
CONSTITUTION: A pad roller 41 provided facing a card transfer path 9 onto which a magnetic card 1, is transferred and disposed to face oppositely the magnetic head 40 recording/reproducing magnetic information on the magnetic card 1 is supported rotatably by a long groove 49 of a head pad lever 42 supported turnably around a turn shaft 51 to the card transfer path 9. The support shaft 41A of the pad roller 41 is pressed and energized by the other end 42a of a pressing elastic body 42 whose one end 42a is fixed to the head pad lever 43 toward the magnetic head 40, and the head pad lever 43 is held by a hold mechanism 44 in a position where the pad roller 41 is in pressurized- contact with the magnetic head 40.
