Abstract:
To provide a multilayer ceramic electronic component in which a protective effect of side margin portions is less likely to be impaired.SOLUTION: A ceramic electronic component includes a multilayer body and a pair of side margin portions. The multilayer body includes: a plurality of internal electrodes stacked in a first axis direction; and a pair of side faces perpendicular to a second axis that is orthogonal to a first axis, ends of the internal electrodes in the second axis direction being positioned to be aligned within a range of 0.5 μm in the second axis direction. The pair of side margin portions includes a ceramic polycrystal as a main component and a plurality of glass grains dispersed in the polycrystal, a total volume ratio of the glass grains with respect to the polycrystal being 1% or more and 20% or less. The side margin portions cover the pair of side faces, respectively. A median diameter of the glass grains is 0.20 μm or more and less than 0.75 μm, and is 90% or more of a median diameter of crystal grains constituting the polycrystal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
