PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for neutralizing hydrochloric acid in desulfurized naphtha produced in the hydrogenation desulfurization of the naphtha fraction of a petroleum refining device producing various petroleum products such as LPG (liquid petroleum gas), naphtha, gasoline, lamp oil and light oil from crude oil and heavy oil.SOLUTION: A neutralizer is added to the water introduction piping of the naphtha desulfurization apparatus of a petroleum refining device in an organic chlorine-containing crude oil treatment step.SELECTED DRAWING: None
