Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, by targeting a method for removing a nitrogen component included within treatment target water based on the electrochemical reduction thereof, a method enabling a stable treatment for removing the nitrogen component while an efficient reaction control is being executed.SOLUTION: In a method for removing, via electrolysis, a nitrogen component within treatment target water without partitioning the gap between an anode and a cathode with a diaphragm, the concentration of the nitrogen component within the treatment target water is measured at a nitrogen component removal treatment step, and after a main reaction mechanism specific to the cathode has been estimated based on the concentration measurement results, the addition of a specified chemical required for the nitrogen removal treatment is controlled depending on the estimated reaction mechanism. Alternatively, the pH of the treatment target water is maintained within a specified range by using a pH adjuster, and after a main reaction mechanism specific to the cathode has been estimated based on the quantity of the pH adjuster used at a nitrogen component removal treatment step, the addition of a specified chemical is controlled depending on the estimated reaction mechanism.
