PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology enabling high anticorrosion performance inside an absorption type refrigeration machine.SOLUTION: In an operation method of an absorption type refrigeration machine 1, an absorbent for the absorption type refrigeration machine contains lithium bromide and gallic acid; also, the content of the gallic acid is preferably 100 ppm or more and 1% or less; and further the absorbent contains lithium bromide (LiBr). When a decompression state in a circulation system 11 of the absorbent breaks, and oxygen is mixed with the circulation system, gallic acid is input to the absorbent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
