Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ironworks operation method and COgas decomposition device configured to effectively utilize COgenerated in ironworks to reduce substantial COemission.SOLUTION: The COgas contained in by-product gas of ironworks passes through molten salt with voltage applied thereto or is brought into contact with the molten salt to be decomposed into solid and oxygen gas, thereby reducing substantial COemission. At least generated solid carbon is recovered from the molten salt, and then used in facilities in the ironworks, as fuel, a reductant or a carburization material. The oxygen gas is utilized as supporting gas or an oxidizing material of a converter or a heating furnace facility in the ironworks, thereby effectively utilizing the COgenerated in the ironworks for operation of the ironworks.
