Abstract:
To acquire distance information by selectively detecting reflection light from an object.SOLUTION: An optical device includes: a photodetector; an optical system; and a control circuit for controlling the photodetector and the optical system. The optical system allows light arriving from a partial direction to impinge on the photodetector from among light arriving from the outside. The control circuit changes a detection direction as a direction from which light detected by the photodetector arrives by controlling the optical system, changes focal length of the optical system in linking with a change in the detection direction, allows the photodetector to detect light arriving from an object positioned in a single detection direction in at least two states having different focal distances of the optical system, and generates distance information up to the object on the basis of at least two detection light quantities detected each by the photodetector in the at least two states.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
