Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which contains a cyclic olefin resin and whose wavelength dispersion characteristic of the retardation in the in-plane direction is inverse dispersion, a polarizer including the optical film, a liquid crystal display device including the polarizer, and a manufacturing method of the optical film.SOLUTION: Provided is an optical film comprising a cyclic olefin resin and a photoisomerizable polymer, where the photoisomerizable polymer has at least one kind of group selected from a group having a structure in which two aromatic six-membered rings are connected through an azo group, a cinnamoyl group, a group derived from a Schiff base, and a group derived from stilbene. The photoisomerizable polymer is contained by less than 1 mass% relative to the cyclic olefin resin.the polarizer including the optical film, the liquid crystal display device including the polarizer, and the manufacturing method of the optical film.SELECTED DRAWING: None
