Abstract:
. The method for the regeneration of return-to-zero (RZ), non-soliton optical signals comprises an initial compression of the RZ signals into soliton type signals. There is a subsequent synchronous optical modulation of the soliton type signals, using a clock. The modulated soliton signals are finally decompressed into non-soliton. RZ signals. The compression process preferably includes a spectral or time processing of the optical coded signals, especially by spectral filtering, with amplification and propagation of the signals in a non-linear optical dispersing medium.
