Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of short-circuiting between an anode and a cathode or generation of a dark spot caused by the provision of a scattering layer in an organic electroluminescent element including the scattering layer provided for improving the light extraction efficiency.SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent element includes a multilayer body including a scattering layer, a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, and a light-emitting layer. A scattering body included in the scattering layer is an air bubble or a glass particle, and the hole injection layer and/or the hole transport layer is formed by a wet deposition method. The formation of the hole injection layer and/or the hole transport layer close to the scattering layer by the wet deposition method causes the hole injection layer and/or the hole transport layer to be formed following the unevenness of the surface of the scattering layer, so that the hole injection layer and/or the hole transport layer serves as a protective film for preventing a deposition defect of each layer formed thereon. This provides a long lifetime organic electroluminescent element with no dark spots and no short-circuiting.
