Abstract:

To provide a substance emitting red phosphorescence closer to the red chromaticity coordinates of the NTSC (National Television System Committee) Standard.

An organometallic complex is represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R1to R3represent each any of a hydrogen, a halogen group, an acyl group, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, a cyano group and a heterocyclic group, with the proviso that at least one of the R1to R3represents an electron-attracting substituent; M represents a group 9 element or a group 10 element; n is 2 when M is the group 9 element; and n is 1 when M is the group 10 element). The organometallic complex emits the red phosphorescence having excellent visibility closer to the red chromaticity coordinates of the NTSC standard.
