PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified cellulose fiber that has high dispersibility even if having a low modification rate and is useful in combination with a resin; to provide a method for producing the modified cellulose fiber; and to provide a resin composition including the modified cellulose fiber.SOLUTION: A cellulose fiber is polymerized with a polymerizable monomer including a polymerizable fluorene compound that has low homopolymerizability and is represented by Formula (1) (where a ring Z represents an arene ring, Rrepresents an alkylene group, m represents an integer 0 or 1 or more, Xrepresents a radically polymerizable group, Xrepresents a radically polymerizable group or a hydrogen atom, n1 and n2 represent 1, Rand Rrepresent substituents, p represents an integer 0 or 1 or more, and k represents an integer 0 to 4) in the presence of a radical generator in a solvent, thereby obtaining a modified cellulose fiber in which the polymerizable monomer is graft-bonded to the cellulose fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: None
