PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outside joint member capable of preventing intrusion of spatter generating in welding an outside joint member of a constant velocity universal joint, into a cup portion of the outside joint member.SOLUTION: In an outside joint member of a constant velocity universal joint, a cup portion provided with a track groove engaged with a torque transmission element on its inner periphery, and a shaft portion formed on a bottom portion of the cup portion are composed of separate members, and a cup member 12a configuring the cup portion and a shaft member 13a configuring the shaft portion are butted and welded. In the outside joint member of the constant velocity universal joint in which a hollow cavity portion H is formed in butting a butting end face 50 of the cup member and a butting end face 51 of the shaft member, a ventilation hole 60 communicating with the hollow cavity portion is formed at a shaft center of the cup member, a welding spatter accommodation portion 70 is formed between the butted welding portion 49 and the hollow cavity portion, and a micro clearance portion 71 for preventing intrusion of the welding spatter to the inside of the cup portion, is formed between the welding spatter accommodation portion and the hollow cavity portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
