Abstract:
To provide a steel overhang sidewalk unit which can be easily attached to an existing road or bridge along a cliff.SOLUTION: In an existing bridge, a ground cover is cut off leaving a part. The remaining part becomes an edge stone 4. An overhang sidewalk unit 1 includes: a bottom wall 1a; a body 1a comprising side walls 1d, 1e at both ends of the bottom wall; and a cover 1b detachably covering the body 1a. The unit 1 is supported in a cantilever shape by fastening bolts 9 with nuts 8 on one side to a floor slab 5 of the cut off part of the ground cover 3. The side wall 1e at the free end hangs down from the bottom wall 1a and serves as a drainer 1k.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
