Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide phytosterol ester which changes from hydrophilic property to hydrophobic property at a particular pH, and liposome which includes the phytosterol ester and consequently can release inclusion at a particular pH.SOLUTION: Phytosterol ester represented by the following general formula (1) and a salt thereof are provided. (In the general formula 1, Rrepresents a phytosterol residue obtained by removing from phytosterol a hydroxyl group bonded thereto; Rrepresents a linear, branched, or cyclic hydrocarbon group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms; but an ether bond may be contained; n represents an integer of 1-3.)
