PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processing method and a paper sheet processing system that are capable of reducing the workload of an operator.SOLUTION: The paper sheet processing method of an embodiment comprises a plurality of steps: a step of reading carry-in source information 5 of a sealing band 2; a step of reading identification information 4 of a partition card 3; a step of recording in a database 40 the carry-in source information and the identification information of the partition card in association with each other; a step of sending out paper sheets one by one together with a partition card; a step of determining whether or not each of the paper sheets or the partition card is a paper sheet (card) to be rejected; a step of removing the paper sheet to be rejected and the partition card corresponding thereto; and a step of extracting from the data base carry-in source information on the basis of the identification information of the partition card removed together with the rejected paper sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
